GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL

Aims and Objectives

The Grievance Redressal Cell at Handique Girls" College serves as a platform for students, teachers, and staff to voice their concerns and issues. Its primary goal is to address grievances effectively, fostering a positive and harmonious learning environment. The Cell encourages students to freely and confidently express their concerns, both academic and non-academic, without fear of retaliation. Additionally, it offers counseling and transparent solutions to resolve issues in a fair and constructive manner.

 

Grievance Redressal Process

To ensure smooth grievance resolution, all stakeholders, including students, guardians, teachers, and non-teaching staff, must complete a standard grievance form. Three distinct forms are available for different categories: one for students, one for guardians, and one for teachers and non-teaching staff.

Form Collection:
  • Students and guardians can collect forms from the heads of the respective departments.
  • Teachers can also obtain forms from their department heads.
  • Non-teaching staff can collect forms from the Head Assistant.

While providing the complainant´s name and address is optional, once completed, forms should be deposited in the drop box located outside the Principal"s Chamber. Alternatively, grievances can be submitted online through a Google form available on the college website.

The members of the Grievance Redressal Cell collect both online and offline submissions and present them to the Principal. After reviewing the grievances, the Principal and the College Authority work to resolve any issues deemed valid under college norms.

 

Grievance Redressal Process

The Grievance Redressal Cell of the college has successfully addressed and resolved many concerns amicably. This year, several key issues were resolved through the cell:

  • Uniform Change: A new uniform of black pants and a maroon t-shirt has been introduced for students on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • Canteen Pricing: A request was made to the canteen supplier to provide food at more affordable prices for the benefit of the student community.
  • Study Resources: Previous years´ question papers are now available in the library for student reference.
  • Competitive Exam Coaching: In response to student requests, the college has started offering coaching for competitive exams like ACS and IAS.
  • Digital Classrooms: At the request of some teachers, digital boards have been introduced in selected classrooms as a priority

 

These initiatives reflect the college"s commitment to addressing grievances and enhancing the overall academic environment.
