PSYCHOLOGY

PROFILE

Welcome to the Department of Psychology, a hub of academic excellence and holistic development. Since our establishment of psychology department in 2011, we embarked on a journey of knowledge dissemination, commencing with a comprehensive general course. In 2014, we expanded our horizons by introducing a Major course in Psychology enriching our curriculum to meet the evolving needs of the field.

A source of immense pride is our consistent achievement: every graduating batch attains first-class distinction, a testament to our unwavering commitment to academic excellence. The department thrives on a vibrant academic environment, fostering growth through a plethora of activities—talks, seminars, workshops, industrial visits, hospital visit, internships, training sessions, yoga session and practicals. These experiences enrich our students´ understanding of psychology, preparing them for the dynamic challenges of the world.

Our success story is incomplete without acknowledging the stalwarts—Dr. Bidita Das and Dr. Suneeta Khanna Ganguly, the founder teachers of the department-whose dedicated leadership has been instrumental since the department´s inception. Regular classes and mentoring are pivotal in our students´ success, ensuring a strong foundation for each individual.

Our alumni, now engaged in diverse fields such as industry, teaching, mental health, and in NGOs, stand as living testaments to the versatility of our Department.

As the head of the department, I am immensely proud of our achievements and eagerly anticipate the continued success of our students.
